Space Hijackers are a really really cool group of artists+activists who set up live projects that treat physical spaces in unconventional ways in order to challenge our thoughts about the places we inhabit + use. They claim to "promote alternatives to corporate-led, government controlled life." They often engage in exciting activities whether its playing golf on rooftops or hosting pirate parties under tunnels.
When a Starbucks opened near Whitechapel, London the group Space Hijakers decided to organize a humorous performance that can be seen as a commentary or even a form of protest.
They held a mock funeral ceremony with a priest and a gospel choir passing through the store and consequently in front of the police force that gathered.
